living heritage wood shows

Living Heritage are producing Wood Festivals with a difference. It has only been able to do so with the continued support of all those involved including the Carvers themselves. Such Carvers as Bob King from the USA, winner of the 2004 English Open Chainsaw Competition held at Sandringham and Keiji Kidokora from Japan. UK Carvers such as Mick Burns of Scotland and Harry Thomas of England are just two of the many top class U.K. Carvers. Some of them compete in competitions all over the UK and the rest of the world.

Living Heritage has been Organising Shows and Events for over 24 years and is well recognised for its Craft Shows and Country Shows held in prestigious venues across the UK. Such shows as Sandringham Craft Show a long and well established show, Blenheim Palace Craft Show and Knebworth House Country Show are only a few examples of our list of shows.

As part of our efforts to promote the new shows and support the talented Chainsaw Carvers we have introduced a Carver at a selection of our other events. This feature of the show allows the Carver to produce a sculpture from a single piece of timber in the time allowed in a competition. Each piece is then Auctioned off at the show if the sculpture does not sell for whatever reason it is then taken to the next competition i.e Wood Show/Festival where it is auctioned with the competition pieces.

Sculptures may not sell or may not reach the carvers reserve price and therefore are sent to the next Auction for sale.

This page on the web site is being designed to promote the carvers and the sculptures they have produced at Living Heritage Events. Sculptures from these shows will be shown on this page with the Carver and the price it sold for or estimated value. It also gives you the chance to purchase sculptures over the internet.

Reach for the StarsThe Carving Left is a comical piece of two mischief dragons stacking stars it is called reach for the stars and did not make it in time for the Auction at Tatton Park Country Show. It was made by Crazy George of Germany. And it does have a small reserve price on it and so offers for the piece are invited. Send them to chainsaw@livingheritge.fsnet.co.uk
